Radon Air Tests require a minimum of 48-hours to measure the levels in a home. Results are provided immediately following the testing period.
Radon monitors are typically placed on the date of inspection or prior to inspection day. Summit Home Inspection does offer stand-alone radon air testing to homeowners. Don't hesitate to contact us about having your home tested.
If the home is vacant or occupied by renters, we will utilize lab provided testing equipment in place of our CRM's for liability purposes. This will render a 2-3 day delay in obtaining the results.
Please let the inspector know if the home is vacant or occupied by renters.
Radon equipment is place per EPA regulations and may require additional monitors based on home foundation types, size and layout/design. These typically will add an additional fee, which will be discussed once the home is evaluated by the inspector.
Radon results should be less than 4.0pCi/L (per EPA recommendation) and can fluctuate slightly based on weather conditions, seasons and changes to the home (ie: renovations, additions, installation of sump pumps, openings in the foundation or slab, etc.).
Radon gas is colorless and odorless, which makes it difficult to know the levels in the home. Testing for Radon is inexpensive and results are immediate. Learn more about Radon and whether you should have your home tested prior to purchase.
Summit Home Inspection, LLC utilizes state-of-the-art equipment to perform the required 48-hour minimum radon testing.
